Born in León, Alberto has been a violin professor at the Municipal Conservatory of Music of Barcelona since 2010. He maintains an active concert career, focusing particularly on chamber music, and has performed in major concert halls across Spain, Germany, France, Italy, Slovakia, Russia, Kazakhstan, Japan, and South Korea to critical and public acclaim.

His recent discography is highlighted by the release of “Sonata Española” (Columna Música, 2026), recorded alongside pianist Marc Piqué. This work received international acclaim and was awarded the Gold Medal at the Global Music Awards (California) and the Diamond Prize at the World Classical Music Awards (London).

Throughout his career, he has collaborated closely with pianist and composer Carles Cases, performing as violin and viola soloist on his latest recordings. Among these, the album “Araguaia” stands out, winning the Enderrock Award for Best Classical Album as well as the Critics' Choice Award for Best Contemporary Music Album.

As a soloist, he has performed with ensembles such as the Bratislava Chamber Orchestra (Slovakia), Nobilis Ensemble (Russia), the Liceu Higher Conservatory of Music Orchestra in Barcelona, the UNESCO Barcelona Orchestra, the Vic Chamber Orchestra, the Cadí Chamber Orchestra, the Carles Cases Ensemble, and the León Youth Musical Orchestra, among others.

His performances and recordings have been broadcast and published by leading media outlets and record labels, including Radio Nacional de España, Catalunya Ràdio, Slovak Radio, Russia TV, Harmonia Mundi, Temps Records, Solfa Recordings, and Columna Música.

EDUCATION AND TRAINING

Alberto began his musical studies in León under Margarita Morais and started his violin training with Pierrette Saint-Geremie. After furthering his studies in Oviedo with José Ramón Hevia, he moved to Barcelona to complete his Bachelor of Music (Higher Degree) in Violin at the Conservatori Superior de Música del Liceu under the tutelage of master Gonçal Comellas, holding a full merit scholarship throughout his studies.

Over the course of his training, he has taken masterclasses and received guidance from renowned musicians such as Liviu Prunaru (concertmaster of the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra in Amsterdam), Boris Belkin, Alexander Melnikov, Michel Wagemans, Bruno Canino, and Gonçal Comellas himself.

Alberto plays a violin crafted in 2008 by luthier David Bagué, a replica of the Guarneri del Gesù "Ex Carrodus".
